Former Poundland owner offers to invest as minister prepares board meeting

Steve Smith, a former owner of the discount chain Poundland, has said he is willing to invest in the company. He said he has tried to contact its current owners, Gordon Brothers, but has received no reply.

The offer comes as a minister prepares to meet the company's board.
