Abbas Afridi poses with five trophies after Pakistan finish fifth at Hong Kong Sixes
Pakistan captain Abbas Afridi shared a playful photo with his five awards from the Hong Kong Sixes 2026, though his team finished fifth overall.
Abbas Afridi marked his individual success at the Hong Kong Sixes 2026 with a photograph of himself resting on a bed beside five trophies. The image, shared on social media, showed him named Player of the Tournament, with three Player of the Match awards and the prize for most sixes.
Afridi scored 216 runs in four matches and hit 31 sixes, making him joint leading run scorer alongside Australia's Max Bryant. In the Plate final against Oman, he struck an unbeaten 73 off 16 balls, helping Pakistan to a win by 18 runs and the Plate trophy.
Pakistan could not defend the main title they won in 2025 and finished fifth overall, since the Plate decides positions five to eight. Afghanistan won the Cup, beating Australia by four wickets in the final. Several social media users criticised the celebration in light of Pakistan's finish.
