Kohli Helps Rahul With Jersey as India Edge New Zealand in Rain-Hit ODI
Virat Kohli's small gesture toward KL Rahul before the Wellington ODI drew attention, and India went on to win by four runs under DLS.
A short video of Virat Kohli helping teammate KL Rahul sort out his jersey before the second ODI against New Zealand in Wellington has been widely shared online. Rain had delayed the start, and Rahul was having trouble getting a second jersey to fit, so support staff stepped in. Kohli joined them and helped adjust the jersey and the inner shirt sleeves.
On the field, India won by four runs under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method. New Zealand were bowled out for 134 in 41 overs, with Daryl Mitchell scoring 55 and Gurnoor Brar taking four wickets for 30 runs.
India's chase was difficult. Captain Shubman Gill was dismissed for a duck and Kohli scored seven. Rahul remained unbeaten on 26, and India were 113 for 7 in 26 overs when rain ended play. Brar was named Player of the Match. India lead the five-match series 2-0, and the third ODI is scheduled for Hamilton on November 10.
