Shehbaz Sharif hails Pakistan's Hong Kong Sixes win over India
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated Pakistan's cricket team on a four-wicket win over India in the opening match of the Hong Kong Sixes 2026.
Chasing India's total of 89, Pakistan reached the target in just 3.5 overs at the Mission Road Ground in Hong Kong. Khawaja Nafay hit 41 off 12 balls, while captain Abbas Afridi made 35 off eight deliveries to complete the win. Sharif, posting on X, praised the players and also credited Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi and the board for preparing and supporting the squad. Pakistan has won the Hong Kong Sixes six times, including the 2025 edition, and is also hosting Sri Lanka and England in an ODI tri-series.
