Sonam Kapoor revisits her moment with Elizabeth Taylor's famous emerald necklace
Sonam Kapoor has shared old photographs of herself wearing the Bvlgari necklace once owned by Elizabeth Taylor, as renewed interest in the jewel grew after Kim Kardashian tried it on in Rome.
Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor has posted throwback photographs of herself wearing the emerald-and-diamond necklace made by Bvlgari that belonged to Hollywood star Elizabeth Taylor. She posted the pictures on November 4, saying the piece had drawn fresh attention. In the photos she wears a red column gown with voluminous sleeves and matching red lipstick.
The necklace was a wedding gift from Richard Burton to Taylor in 1964 and is part of a 1960s emerald collection. It features a 23.46-carat rectangular Colombian emerald surrounded by pear-shaped diamonds, along with 16 graduated Colombian emeralds, and includes a detachable pendant. Media reports value it at about $12.7 million.
The jewel returned to the spotlight when Kim Kardashian tried it on at a Bvlgari boutique in Rome during a press tour for the series 'All's Fair' Season 2. She was accompanied by her stylist, Law Roach.
