Defending champion Aaron Rai praises Yas Links ahead of Abu Dhabi title defence
Aaron Rai says Yas Links is among the best courses on the calendar and is not worried about playing in the UAE despite regional tensions.
Defending Abu Dhabi Championship champion Aaron Rai has spoken of his excitement at returning to Yas Links, the venue where he won one of the biggest titles of his career. He beat fellow Englishman Tommy Fleetwood in a play-off last year to claim the trophy in the UAE capital.
Rai described the course's condition as the best he plays during the year and praised its layout as well designed and unique. He said he would keep his preparation unchanged, focusing on preparation early in the week and on performance from Thursday to Sunday.
Asked about ongoing tensions in the Middle East, Rai said he had no particular concerns about travelling to Abu Dhabi. He said the DP World Tour hosts events well and is mindful of the region, adding that if it is good enough for the tour to be there, it is good enough for him.
