Premier League clash, F1 title chance and cricket headline Gulf weekend sports
A busy weekend of sport lies ahead, with Chelsea meeting Manchester United, Kimi Antonelli eyeing his first F1 world title in Mexico and several cricket fixtures involving the UAE, Pakistan and India.
Chelsea face Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday in the weekend's standout Premier League fixture. Manchester City host Brighton, Tottenham play Crystal Palace in a London derby, and Liverpool meet Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday. The round ends with Newcastle United against Everton on Monday night.
In Formula One, Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli, 20, can win the Drivers' Championship at the Mexican Grand Prix in Mexico City. He leads team-mate George Russell by 123 points and needs only a ninth-place finish or better on Sunday, when the 71-lap race starts at 11pm UAE time. A win would make him the youngest world champion in F1 history.
In cricket, the UAE play the Netherlands in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 at the ICC Academy in Dubai on Saturday morning. Pakistan meet Sri Lanka in the one-day tri-series final in Lahore on Saturday, and India finish their Twenty20 international series against New Zealand in Hamilton on Sunday.
