Braun's compact facial shaver adds a light to pre-makeup grooming

The Braun Face Mini Hair Remover FS1000 is a small electric shaver designed for the upper lip, chin and cheeks. It is aimed at users who want to remove fine facial hair quickly before applying makeup.

The device's most noticeable feature is its Smartlight, which illuminates the area being groomed so that pale, fine hairs are easier to see under ordinary indoor lighting. Its rotary cutting head sits beneath a protective foil, which forms a barrier between the blade mechanism and the skin.

The shaver runs on a single replaceable AA battery, so it needs no charging cable or power socket during use. The package includes a cleaning brush, a spare AA battery and a cap to cover the head during storage. The FS1000 only shaves the skin's surface and cannot remove hair from the root, as it has no waxing or tweezing function.
