Satellite ocean data points fishermen to richer fishing zones, Kochi experts say
Indian satellites that gather ocean data can help identify fishing zones where catches are significantly higher, experts said at a symposium in Kochi.
Speakers at the Kochi symposium described how satellite-based ocean data is used to locate areas where fish are more plentiful, offering fishermen a way to plan their trips more effectively.
The experts also highlighted that the same space technology helps track climate-related changes in the sea and supports efforts to protect vulnerable marine communities.
