Urmila Matondkar pays vintage tribute with classic Hindi song video

Actress Urmila Matondkar posted a black-and-white video on Instagram on Thursday in which she performs Mere Piya Gaye Rangoon, a song from the 1949 Hindi film Patanga. She wore a long kurta with a skirt, oversized jhumkas and a vintage-style hairstyle to match the era. Along with the clip, she wrote a tribute to her love of black-and-white films and older Hindi songs, and added a playful note with musical emojis. The song was originally picturised on Gope and Mohana Cabral, sung by C. Ramchandra and Shamshad Begum, and composed by C. Ramchandra. Separately, Urmila said she visited the Sanjivani Hanuman temple on a hilltop in October, sharing pictures and describing the site as a place of peace.
