Erth Zayed Philanthropies hosted the UAE Strategic Philanthropy Network in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, bringing together around 60 participants from charities, public authorities and the business community. It was the first time the organisation led the network's annual meeting, which had previously been run by the Office of Development and Martyrs Families Affairs. The event was held under the theme "Building the Future of Philanthropy Together".
Secretary-General Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili opened the day by highlighting the UAE's tradition of generosity and solidarity. Participants then split into breakout sessions on mobilising capital for lasting social change, innovation with purpose, and strategic alignment with international engagement. Organisers said the discussions focused on building organisations' capacity, measuring impact more effectively and exploring joint funding.
Participants identified areas for future collaboration, including investing in talent, giving young people a greater voice, sharing knowledge and forming partnerships across sectors and borders. Erth Zayed Philanthropies was established in October 2024 by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and oversees affiliated bodies working in health, education, agriculture, economic development, nature and culture.](ml)
