Ajman school buses all fitted with automatic fire suppression systems
Every school bus in Ajman now has an automatic fire suppression system in its engine compartment, the emirate's transport authority has said.
Ajman Transport Authority has confirmed that all school buses operating in the emirate are equipped with an automatic fire suppression system in the engine compartment. The systems are meant to respond quickly to fires and limit the spread of flames, helping protect pupils, drivers and bus supervisors during daily trips to and from school.
Sami Ali Al Jallaf, executive director of the Public Transport and Licensing Agency, said reaching full coverage is part of the authority's work to ensure school buses meet approved safety requirements. He said pupils' safety is the top priority and that inspections focused on making sure buses and their protective systems were ready for service.
Al Jallaf said the systems provide an early response to engine fires and improve the operational safety of school buses. He added that the authority is also checking that other safety equipment works effectively and will continue to raise fire prevention standards.
