Railways to add AI alerts and underpasses at Walayar to protect elephants on tracks

Indian Railways plans to fund artificial intelligence surveillance and wildlife underpasses at Walayar to prevent collisions between elephants and trains. The move follows a trial in Tamil Nadu that was described as successful.

The new measures will add to fencing work already under way to safeguard animals that cross the tracks.
